Minor flooding in Seymour as Goulburn River rises

Minor flooding: Some low-lying camping sites at the Big 4 Holiday Park in Seymour were impacted by the flooding.

Parts of Seymour have been impacted by minor flooding from the Goulburn River.

Up to 45mm of rain had fallen across the Goulburn River catchment in the 48 hours to 9am on Wednesday, September 28, and the river at Seymour was 3.83m and rising.

A minor flood warning is in place for the Goulburn from Lake Eildon to Seymour.

The Goulburn River is considered to have reached minor flood level when it reaches 3.8m in Seymour.

There is minor flooding at Goulburn Park in the town with some low-lying caravan park sites inundated.

River levels fell below the minor flood level late Wednesday afternoon and continued to ease to 3.46m by 8am Thursday.

No significant rainfall was detected from Thursday and the flood threat ceased, with no immediate further threat expected.

Water releases from a near-capacity Lake Eildon are also contributing to high levels in the Goulburn River.
