Mitchell Shire Council candidates announced

Nominations for Mitchell Shire Council elections closed on Tuesday, September 17, and a field of 22 candidates has been confirmed.

Below is the order they will appear on the ballot paper as confirmed by the Victorian Electoral Commission.

The Mitchell Shire is divided into three wards: North, Central and South.

Each ward will elect three councillors in the upcoming election.

North Ward nominees

  • Eric Houghton
  • Ned Jeffery
  • Bill Chisholm
  • Stuart Ferguson
  • Andrea Pace
  • John Dougall

Central Ward nominees

  • Brett Owen
  • Timothy Hanson
  • Nathan Clark
  • Mike Haysom
  • Andries Brand
  • Bob Humm
  • Douglas John Dyson

South Ward nominees

  • Claudia James
  • Bob Cornish
  • Riley Evans
  • David Lowe
  • Indervir Singh
  • Jasdeep Kochar
  • Bikram Singh
  • Ginni Kocher
  • Akashdeep Singh

The candidates will battle it out to take one of the nine seats on council — three seats on each ward.

Community members should receive their voting packs in the mail in the next few weeks.
