On Thursday, June 2, Moama Anglican Grammar students and staff acknowledged Reconciliation Week with a walk.

It was led by the school’s young Indigenous Awareness Committee with the guidance of secondary teacher Amy Lane.

More than 600 students took part in this first annual reconciliation walk at the school.

A small group of students painted a beautiful banner for the school to walk behind.

The banner represented different tribes, the river, scar tree, the local totem and a rainbow serpent.

Next year the school hopes to invite community members for a bigger and longer walk.
