Moama Historic Vehicle Club announced Tony Clarke as the newest life member of the organisation on October 9.
Mr Clarke is the third person to be awarded life membership of the club, preceded by Alan Tonkin in 2022 and Thomas Weyrich last year.
Club president Kate Dixon said Mr Clarke was selected for life membership based on his co-founding role, dedication to the club and community focus.
“He got the club up and running almost 20 years ago, and has been a devoted member to the club for that time,” she said.
“He’s a valued community member as well. He’s always into other groups and giving back to charities.”
Mr Clarke served as the club’s president for around eight years, and worked as a safety officer in a role that ensured cars met the criteria for historic vehicle registration.
He has also been recognised for time devoted to the Sunshine Bendigo community volunteer group and his important role in promoting the Moama Historic Vehicle Club.
To be considered for life membership, members must be in an executive role for numerous years, have been a member of the club for over 15 years and actively join in club events and support the community.
Nominations are received by the club’s executive committee at the end of each financial year and assessed based on the above criteria.
