Moira Shire Council seeks community input for road safety strategy

Moira Shire Council and TAC have initiated a community survey to enhance road safety.

Moira Shire Council has partnered with the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) to launch a community survey on road safety.

The council is eager to gather feedback from residents about their road experiences and suggestions for improving safety.

This valuable feedback will be used to develop a comprehensive Road Safety Strategy and Action Plan. This plan aims to boost safety for everyone using the shire’s roads, whether they're driving, walking, cycling, or using other forms of transport.

The survey is part of the council's broader efforts to tackle road safety issues in the shire.

By engaging the community in this process, the council aims to create tailored solutions that will significantly improve safety for all road users.

Council Chair Administrator Graeme Emonson PSM stressed the crucial role of community participation.

“Community input into developing a local Road Safety Strategy and Action Plan is vital,” Dr Emonson said.

“As a council, we cannot do this alone.

“Developing a plan is essential for shaping a safer future on the roads for our region.

“Together, we can work to reduce the impact, severity and frequency of road accidents.”

Local residents are urged to take part in the survey, offering their insights on enhancing road safety throughout Moira Shire.

Residents can complete the survey online until Friday, September 6, or pick up a paper copy from any council customer service centre.
