Moira Shire residents to benefit from RRC collections initiative

RecycleSmart has launched an exciting initiative in collaboration with Moira Shire to enhance recycling efforts within the community.

This partnership addresses the growing waste challenge in Australia.

The new Resource Recovery Centres (RRC) initiative allows residents to easily drop off soft plastics, which can be difficult to recycle.

The two drop off points for Yarrawonga are the Yarrawonga RRC and Yarrawonga Service Centre at 100 Belmore Street.

The full list of items collected and drop off points available for Moira Shire residents can be found on Moira Shire Council’s website - click here - www.moira.vic.gov.au/Residents/Environment/The-world-of-waste/Waste-we-accept/Soft-plastic

By simplifying the process, the program aims to engage the community in reducing landfill contributions, especially as National Recycling Week approaches (November 11-17).

Residents can gather their soft plastics, visit their local RRC, and help divert waste from landfills.

RecycleSmart will then collect these items and transport them to specialized recycling facilities, where they are transformed into new materials. Find out the full process here - www.recyclesmart.com/soft-plastics-recycling-process

While the RRC initiative is a key focus, RecycleSmart also offers other services in different areas, such as doorstep collections and business collections collecting tricky to recycle items such as soft plastics, e-waste, textiles, batteries and over 100+ other items.

There are hopes to expand these services down to Moira Shire soon, further fostering a culture of responsible recycling in the community.
