Calling all artists.

Arts for All is on a mission to brighten the community and needs your help.

If you choose to accept, your mission will involve helping produce mosaic panels that will form the Thompsons Beach Mosaic Art Trail.

Attendees will create mosaics of native animals, birds, fish and plants to celebrate the natural beauty around Cobram.

The workshop will be at the Arts for All headquarters at the former St Joseph’s Church on William St, Cobram, and will run on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28.

The workshop will run between 10am and 4pm on both days, and with no set time, attendees can pop in and out.

The workshop will be run by local artist Sharon Evans, and no experience is needed. However, attendees must be 16 years or older.

Arts for All president June Wood said the mural trail was a great local initiative.

“It's a great community project,” she said.

"The attendees’ artwork will be displayed at Thompsons Beach for everyone to admire and enjoy.”

Ms Wood hopes that alongside the new playground being built at Thompsons Beach, the art murals would provide another reason for people to come to the area to relax.

Arts for All’s mission to brighten the community through art has seen much success with the creation of Sherman the Tortoise and the mural outside of the Grand Central Hotel.

The organisation is also planning a mural, and a facelift, for the Mivo Park toilet blocks.

The Thompsons Beach Mosaic Art Trail is a joint project between Arts for All and the Moira Shire Council.
