The Girgarre Moosic Muster is coming back in 2024.
From January 10 to 14, the muster will be taking over the town, with novice and experienced musicians coming to showcase their skills.
During the festival, there will be plenty of workshops for all music lovers, with chances to play various instruments, including banjo, autoharp, mandolin and guitar.
On both Friday and Saturday nights, head down to the Gargarro Botanic Gardens to enjoy two music-filled nights with free concerts for all to enjoy.
This festival also features an Aussie music twist. Learn from skilled tutors how to write songs Aussie style, compose Australian rhyming poetry and play songs with lots of Aussie history thrown in.
Over five days, expect to see continuous open mic opportunities, plenty of workshops, choir sessions for campers, lots of ukulele playing with an all-day specialised program, bush dancing and impromptu Out of the Hat Band performance.
“Girgarre township may be small in size, but it has a huge heart and an even bigger store of musical energy,” muster director Jan Smith said.
“We design our program to include everyone, from the novice to the highly experienced. It’s a time to try something new, listen to great performers and get up on stage yourself if you want to.
“With our basic fee at only $35 for the whole five days, with meals and camping extra, we say it’s the most affordable and relaxed acoustic event in the state.”
The festival will take place in the Girgarre town hall and surrounding buildings, with on-site camping, catering, and full amenities available. Children under 12 are admitted free.
