A motorcycle and a van with a trailer collided on Ogilvie Ave, Echuca about 4.45pm on Tuesday, November 26.

Police and Ambulance Victoria responded to the incident, which occurred near Hovell St and Mundarra Rd.

The male rider was taken to Echuca Regional Health with minor injuries.

Echuca Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage to call Echuca Police Station on 03 5483 1500, or to make a report online through Crime Stoppers at https://www.crimestoppersvic.com.au/report-a-crime/

Sergeant Tim Gleeson reminded road users to be vigilant during the holiday season, and credited the rider for wearing full protective motorcycle gear.

“We’re concerned with the lead-up to Christmas,” he said.

“The roads are busier and people seem to be easily distracted, which can lead to devastating consequences.

“In this case, it turned out alright. A lot of that is because he had the full safety gear on with the gloves and helmet.”
