A community recovery officer has been appointed to assist the Murray River Council region continue to recover from the 2022 floods.

This position is fully funded by the NSW Reconstruction Authority.

Elle Brain will work with communities impacted by the 2022 flood event to develop community plans and implement recovery initiatives.

These initiatives may include community events, workshops, mental health support measures and community resilience projects.

The CRO is undertaking a series of ‘meet and greets’ to identify key projects and events that could support residents’ and businesses’ ongoing recovery.

Community members are invited to attend and share their experiences from the 2022 flood event and get any relevant feedback.

“Remember, just because your toes didn’t get wet, doesn’t mean we don't want to hear from you,” a council spokesperson said.

“Many were impacted by road closures, school and workplace closures or even things like freight delay.

“Every experience is important.”

The community information session times and locations are as follows:

• Tooleybuc — Tuesday, June 4, from 2pm at the Tooleybuc Sporting Club.
