Multiple charges for Shepparton woman following double fatality

A 26-year-old Shepparton woman has been charged with multiple offences following a Shepparton East crash in October that cost the lives of an unborn child and a five-year-old girl.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives charged the woman on Wednesday, November 29 with offences including dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing serious injury.

She has been bailed to appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

Police say a silver Toyota LandCruiser, a black Ford Territory and a white Toyota Landcruiser collided at the intersection of Old Dookie Rd and Boundary Rd about 2pm on October 20.

The driver of the silver Toyota, a 26-year-old Shepparton woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and has since been charged by police.

Her passenger, Shepparton five-year-old Savannah Kemp, died at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, a 32-year-old pregnant woman, was flown to hospital with serious injuries, where her unborn baby later died.

The driver of the white Toyota, a 33-year-old Shepparton man, and his passenger, a 22-year-old Katandra West man, were taken to hospital for observation.
