The Murray Plains Trust will provide an annual grant of $20,000 each year for 10 years to Echuca Regional Health.

The funding, which will start in 2022 and conclude in 2032, has been provided to support the professional development of allied health professionals in the region.

ERH’s allied health director Elise Mulcahy said it was an important investment into the professional development of the region’s allied health professionals.

“This money will support clinicians to come together, to learn closer to home, or for individuals to access specialised education out of the region,” she said.

“This support will directly contribute to enhancing the quality of allied health services in our regions and it will assist in retaining some of the best and brightest clinicians.”

Murray Plains Trust secretary Shane Weller said the Murray Plains Trust was pleased to be involved with the education and support of allied health professionals in the Murray Plains area.

“With the funds, we are able to provide grants and profession-based training for health professionals in our area,” Mr Weller said.

The grant will be administered by ERH, but available to allied health professionals providing services in the private sector.

Expressions of interest will be called for annually to support grant distribution.
