Businesses have reopened, with many industries rebounding, but many people in business don’t feel like things are back to normal.

To help all businesses with this, the Murray River Council is holding a free seminar ‘Rebuilding teams in a post-pandemic world’ on Friday, November 18, at the Moama chambers.

The seminar will look at how businesses need to rebuild their teams, while meeting the changing expectations of both employees and employers, by creating flexible workplaces that are practical.

Zamagias Consulting accredited facilitator Leeanne Zamagias has been invited to collaborate by NSW Small Business Month organisers to run the event which looks at how to rebuild capacity in a business team.

“The event knowledges that basically everybody’s had the stuffing knocked out of them from COVID and we know in this area especially, we don’t have the emotional resources to deal with everything that comes our way,” Ms Zamagias said.

“The lack of socialisation that we have all had over the last few years has had implications that we are all a bit more prickly in how we deal with others.’’

Ms Zamagias will present key takeaways that might be of help to business owners to strengthen their teams and address any problems that may be creeping in through a lack of team collegiality as a result of working from home.

“It will be all about knowledge sharing, because it will be a case of saying to the people that come along ‘Okay we have had COVID, what are some of the good things that came out of it, but what are some of the bad and how should we address them',” she said.

“We have just had the stuffing knocked out of us, so it’s how we are able to re-group and regain those resources we need to build resilience.

“The seminar acknowledges that people need help and we perhaps have to work out how to get along with each other a bit better.

“Anyone's welcome to attend, but the seminar will benefit anyone who is looking for ways to strengthen their team.”

‘Rebuilding teams in a post-pandemic world’ runs from 9.30am to 11am on Friday.

The seminar is free, but you will need to register at https://www.smallbusinessmonth.nsw.gov.au/
