Murrumbidgee Council has announced Garry Stoll (pictured) has joined the organisation as the new director of planning, community and development.
Council’s general manager John Scarce welcomed Mr Stoll’s appointment and said he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the newly established role.
‘‘Mr Stoll will play an integral part in leading the planning, community and development team,’’ Mr Stoll said.
‘‘It is a new position, which is a key component in strategically positioning ourselves as a sustainable council now and into the future.’’
Mr Stoll said he is looking forward to working closely with the council team to build on the hard work done since the inception of Murrumbidgee Council and further refine procedures where improvements can be made.
‘‘The organisation is at an exciting phase of its evolution with council now in its second term, and currently looking at key strategic directions that will guide operations and priorities for the next ten years and beyond,’’ said Mr Stoll.
‘‘This includes the review of the Community Strategic Plan and the preparation of the new Local Environmental Plan.
‘‘The area is also seeing widespread construction activity with the expansion of renewal energy developments and other significant development projects.’’
Mr Stoll’s experience includes more than 35 years of experience in local government as a planner, building surveyor and public health officer.
He was employed as a director of development and community services at Leeton, Carrathool and Tumbarumba Councils and, most recently, as manager of planning and environment at Narrandera Shire Council.
