Nagambie residents are being called upon to provide input on the draft Local Emergency Action Plan developed by the Nagambie Steering Group.

The draft document, which incorporates information gathered from a community meeting in June, is now available for review on Strathbogie Shire Council’s engagement hub at www.share.strathbogie.vic.gov.au

Strathbogie Shire Council administrator Peter Stephenson praised the community’s involvement.

“This is our fifth township emergency action plan that council officers have prepared, and I am so proud of the communities who have developed their plans,” he said.

“It is the input from locals that makes these plans effective, and in the event of an emergency, whatever it may be, having a plan to assist the community is crucial.”

The LEAP aims to identify risks within local communities and help them prepare for and recover from emergency events.

Residents are encouraged to provide feedback online by Friday, September 13. The Nagambie LEAP Steering Group will review all suggestions before finalising the plan for publication.

Hard copies of the draft plan are available at the Customer Contact Centre, 293 High St, Nagambie, during business hours. For more information, residents can call the Customer Contact team on 1800 065 993.
