More than 180 arts and craft items, alongside precious collectables, were on display at the inaugural Kelvingrove Village Art and Craft Show on Saturday, March 25 at Kelvingrove Village, Nagambie.

It was an art show with a difference; antiques, paintings, quilted items; collectables of many sorts like jugs, dolls, embroidered, sewn, knitted and crocheted garments, and memorabilia, such as a model steamboat and model rail diorama, were on show.

The residents pulled out all the stops to show their talents and treasures of bygone eras and to demonstrate many are still pursuing art into their 70s and 80s.

Some of the ladies showed off their culinary expertise with an afternoon tea for those who came along.

Local businesses and individual residents donated prizes for a raffle that raised funds for the village’s Mother’s Day afternoon tea, to be held on May 16.

The money will be used to hire entertainer and singer Noel Pearson for the afternoon tea.
