Mark your calendar: The Morris Register of Victoria is excited to bring a national event to Shepparton.

A special event is coming to Greater Shepparton for the first time.

The Morris Register’s 24th National Rally will be held in Shepparton this year.

The national rally is held in Victoria by the Morris Register of Victoria every eight years, but this is the first time it will be in Greater Shepparton, giving people an opportunity to look at over 100 iconic vehicles produced by Morris Motors from 1913 until the late 1970s.

Vehicles from all over Australia will arrive in Shepparton for the rally, including vehicles closely related to Morris, such as MG, Riley and Wolseley.

Shift into gear: The Morris Register’s 24th National Rally will be held in Shepparton.

City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali highlighted the economic and community benefits the event would bring to the region.

“It is fantastic to see a nationwide event held here in Greater Shepparton, with the rally only in Victoria every eight years. We are extremely honoured to be the host of the 2024 National Rally,” he said.

“It will give our region a great economic boost, with hundreds of people coming from all over the country to stay with us over the six days. It also gives our community an opportunity to see some amazing historic cars and learn more about them.”

Vintage vibes: The national rally is held in Victoria every eight years, and this is the first time it will be in Shepparton.

The rally will begin with an opening ceremony at Parklake, Shepparton, on Wednesday, April 24. The vehicles will then drive to Tatura on Thursday morning, where they will spend the day.

On Friday, April 26, the signature touring day will see the vehicles travelling to the Art Silo Trail via Dookie and stopping at Goorambat before returning to Shepparton in the afternoon.

The major public display where people can attend and view the vehicles will be at the John Pick Playground, Victoria Park Lake, Shepparton, on Saturday, April 27, from 10am to 3pm. Attendees will be invited to judge the people’s choice, and the winner will be announced at the presentation dinner on Sunday night.

The vehicles will then be displayed at the Museum of Vehicle Evolution on Sunday, April 28, from 10am to 3pm. The display will be open to the public as part of the usual entry arrangements to the museum.
