Neffy’s Walk — Let’s talk, a suicide prevention awareness walk, is being held at Victoria Park Lake in Shepparton, on Saturday, April 29.

The event will commence at 4pm and conclude at 7pm; however, it is recommended attendees arrive at 3.30pm.

Later in the evening, participants are invited to purchase a candle in memory of those lost to suicide, with all proceeds going to Lifeline. A memorial candlelight walk will also take place around the lake.

The donations from the walk and online fundraiser will be used to train additional crisis supporter telephone operators in our region working with Lifeline.

Lifeline Loddon Mallee provides suicide prevention services. Lifeline works with local communities to help prevent and reduce the impact of suicide, while providing lifesaving crisis support, and easy access for those who need help immediately.

As of April 21, the fundraiser run via MyCause had received $200, with hopes of donations increasing as the Neffy’s Walk — Let’s Talk event gains traction with the public.
