Stuck on Stationery has been given a new lease on life.

After being at risk of closure, a new owner has walked through the doors and is ready to welcome the people of Benalla into his store.

Harry Singh officially took over on Monday, October 21 from Karen Van Elk, and so far, he has loved getting to know the Benalla community.

“Everyone’s been so, so, so amazing to us,” Mr Singh, who previously worked as a general manager in a dairy company, said.

“I have no words to describe how the community has helped me out.”

While Mr Singh currently lives in Numurkah with his wife and daughter, he’s fallen in love with the town so much that he plans to relocate his family.

“This will be my (main) business, this is not my side hustle or something like that,” he said.

“I want to help people out, so when I was buying this business, I was having the mindset (that) I’ll help out people and I searched around and there’s no other shop (like this) in town.

“Another business will be gone, so I was like, I have to step in.

“So fingers crossed, let’s see where we go, but you know eventually I want to be part of the community ... and I would like to earn something, just keep this business going and myself going.”

With a double masters in IT, Mr Singh plans to offer computer IT services and website and e-commerce design to Benalla. He will also be continuing the sale of office supplies, mobile accessories, passport and normal photos, party decor and party hire.

“I took over this business, so I’m putting my efforts in as a tech expert, so I will be accommodating more of the IT stuff, computer servicing, laptops, hardware and all that stuff,” he said.

He also has plans to offer a printing service for logos and designs on clothing.
