Change of season approaching for Eden Farm Produce
Biodynamic farm and organic grocery store Eden Farm Produce is embarking on a period of transformation.
The Baker family is behind the business, which started selling biodynamic meat, fruit and vegetables from the back verandah of their farm in 2015 and grew to include a retail store in nearby Numurkah.
The family has now informed its customers and supporters that the store will be closing on a date yet to be announced as it plans a new direction for the business.
In a Facebook post, Eden Farm pointed to changes in the future.
“It has been a very busy and rewarding eight years and our family needs to take some time to reflect, take stock and review the business in order to provide you with the best products and services going forward,” it said.
“For this reason, we have decided to take a pause, which involves closing the retail store in Numurkah as we consider location, product, distribution and many other aspects.
“We hope you will embrace the exciting new direction of the business with us as it unfolds.”

New appointments to regional water authorities
Goulburn-Murray Water and Goulburn Valley Water have both announced new board members.
Goulburn Valley Water, which provides water and wastewater services to a region stretching from the outskirts of Melbourne in the south to the Murray River in the north, has announced the appointment Andrew Fairley AM to replace the departing Denis Flett.
Mr Fairley has more than 40 years’ experience as a commercial and equity lawyer.
Goulburn Valley Water chair Mark Stone AM said he was looking forward to Mr Fairley joining the board.
“Andrew’s experience will help continue to drive our vision of supporting healthy and prosperous communities,” he said.
Goulburn-Murray Water is Australia’s largest rural water corporation and manages, stores and delivers water to more than 25,000 customers in northern Victoria and manages 23 water storages.
Three new directors have been appointed to its board — Tallygaroopna dairy farmer Natalie Akers, Greater Bendigo resident Andrew Cooney and Rochester resident Larna Tarrant.
Board chair Diane James AM thanked outgoing directors Margot Henty, Marg O’Rourke, Dennis Quinn and Alana Johnson AM and welcomed the three new members.
“We look forward to Natalie, Andrew and Larna joining the board and sharing their knowledge of the region, insights and skills as we continue to address challenges such as climate change and flood recovery,” she said.
Australia Post’s end-of-year recruitment drive
It would seem Santa Claus can’t do it alone, truck and forklift drivers are also key to Christmas.
Australia Post, which, along with the jolly old man in the red suit, is also known for moving presents from one place to another in time for Christmas Day, is looking to recruit around 3000 seasonal casuals as it prepares for the festive season rush.
Top of Australia Post’s Christmas list are helpers with valid forklift or truck licences. Seasonal casual roles are also available for freight handlers and parcel processors across the delivery network.
