Adam and Tobi Griffiths are brothers who grew up in Seymour with a passion for fitness.

When they realised the Seymour community lacked available services, they invested in a BFT franchise, opening a state-of-the-art gym in the town’s centre.

Now, they have opened another gym, Griff-Fit, open 24/7 on Crawford St.

This comes after they noticed Census data showing Seymour faces poorer health outcomes than the general population, including higher rates of heart disease, diabetes and close to double the national average of people living with three or more long-term health conditions.

Adam Griffiths said this gym was an investment in the community.

“My vision is to reduce the barriers for people across our region when it comes to leading happier and healthier lives,” he said.

Up and running: Griff-Fit offers state-of-the-art facilities and equipment that caters to different fitness needs.

Adam stressed the complementary nature of BFT and Griff-Fit and the opportunities this unlocks for individuals looking to tailor their fitness journey to their lifestyle.

“While sport is such a massive part of Seymour, organised sport isn’t for everyone, and we identified the need for a broader range of fitness options in the town,” he said.

“So often, the biggest challenge for people to join a gym or start a new fitness routine is simply not knowing where to begin.

“It can be a big step for people joining a gym, but our aim is to serve everyone from 16 to 100 regardless of fitness level or prior experience.”

Griff-Fit and BFT require memberships, but Area Manager Alex Dennis said members can enjoy benefits across both gyms with a dual membership option.

“Adam is passionate not just about delivering top quality fitness infrastructure but providing wrap-around support and building a strong sense of community among members,” Ms Dennis said.

“For many, the gym is their escape and a place where new friendships are formed.

“We’ve seen so many strangers establish lasting relationships within our fantastic little community.”

Ms Dennis said they plan to continue offering regular social events for members to support the fitness community in Seymour.
