Thrift shoppers rejoice! The Recyclability Program and Op Shop have officially set up shop in their new home at 3-5 Murray Valley Hwy, Echuca.

The program and op shop are one of the social enterprises run by Community Living and Respite Services.

Formerly located at 4 Percy St until the building was sold in April, the staff and the contents of the store relocated to an interim pop-up location at the CLRS head office, also on Percy St.

Store team leader Rebecca Burns said they had had a fantastic turnout since they opened their doors to customers on September 19.

“We have had quite a lot of customers come through in this first week,” she said.

“We have all-new signage that is large and visible from the road, which helps us to bring in more customers.”

Ms Burns said the new location was spacious and offered excellent customer parking.

“The store is also not far up the street from a couple of other op shops, meaning that people can really make a day out of op shopping,” she said.

Edge FM presented a live radio show, where it interviewed staff and customers outside the new store location on September 27.

The store is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm.

Customers wanting to make donations can do so via the op shop during business hours only. Alternatively, donations can be left inside any of the donation bins located on Echuca’s Nish St or High St, Moama’s Australia Post and the Rochester IGA car park.
