The new pedestrian crossing lights on Hawdon St in front of Greater Shepparton Secondary College are set to be activated next week.
Contractors will finish installation on Tuesday, May 24, with work expected to be completed by 2pm.
The lights have been installed in response to a surge in pedestrian activity along the road from the school.
“With an increased number of pedestrians in the area, it is important to have these lights operational,” Greater Shepparton City Council director infrastructure Gary Randhawa said.
Council said crossing supervisors would remain until motorists adjusted to the new traffic conditions.
