The acute care campus in Euroa officially has a new name.

GV Health announced that the centre would be named ‘Euroa Hospital’ from July 1, after consulting the local community.

Currently operated by Euroa Health Incorporated under the ‘Euroa Health’ banner, the acute care services, including hospital-based care, urgent care and medical imaging, will transition to GV Health on the same date.

Euroa Health will keep running local services such as GraniteHill Aged Care.

The Euroa Integration Community Reference Group developed a shortlist of names, and over 200 community members provided feedback, with the GV Health board endorsing ‘Euroa Hospital’ after careful consideration.

“Thank you to all community members and staff at both Euroa Health and GV Health who provided invaluable feedback during the consultation period,” GV Health board chair Michael Delahunty said.

“It might seem fairly straightforward, but from the feedback we have received, this is clearly a name that resonates with the community and reflects the long history of hospital services here in Euroa — a legacy we are proud to continue.”
