Echuca West’s new supermarket complex is taking shape with Dellcorp Developments announcing the project remains on track for a November opening.
Andrew Liddell from Dellcorp explained installation of the panels had just started at the construction site.
“They've probably got about 50 per cent of the panels up at the moment.”
Mr Liddell doesn’t have an estimated time as to when all the panels will be completed but the next step afterwards would be to install the steel.
“The steel will go in around mid-March. When they finish putting the panels up, then they will start to put the steel and roof on.
“By the end of March, the supermarket box will be finished.”
In two months’ time, there will be upgrades made to the Murray Valley Hwy and an intersection will be constructed at Elizabeth St.
The Elizabeth St intersection will have traffic lights and signage installed.
It will be an access point from the west residential area to the highway.
“The whole project will really start to ramp up once that superstructure is completed, that is when you'll really be able to see a lot more activity happening and that's probably about three months’ time.”
Mr Liddell explained around that three-month mark was when refrigeration would begin being installed and the car park being constructed.
The entire project is running to schedule, so far.
“The opening date at this stage will remain on November 30, 2022,” Mr Liddell said.
Space totalling 500 sq m has been allocated for potential retail stores to open up in the shopping complex, but Dellcorp is still looking to fill some spaces.
Mr Liddell said, “we've got a BWS going into one of the stores and there's a coffee shop going in another one but there's about 200 sq m left over.”
“We are still looking for some other tenancies.”

Mr Liddell explained that it “has been a battle for everybody” in the construction industry dealing with supply chains that have been impacted by the pandemic.
“At this stage, we are still running on time and everything is (touch wood), going smoothly.”
