Plumes of smoke could be seen some distance away from Yea town centre after a fire broke out in a local take away shop early on Monday, December 4.
A popular breakfast option for early morning travellers and workers, Yea Take Away in High St had to be evacuated after the alarm was raised at 6.53am.
Nine CFA units from Alexandra, Yea, Limestone and Homewood responded to what has been described as a grill fire.
A CFA spokesperson said Ambulance Victoria also attended the scene.
They said the incident was under control by 7.54am and deemed safe at 8:36am.
