Nominations for the Greater Shepparton Volunteer Recognition Awards will open on Monday, January 15.

The awards are an opportunity to recognise and thank volunteers who contribute their time and energy to the community, and the recipients will be presented with their awards during National Volunteers Week in May.

This year’s theme aligns with the 2024 National Volunteers Week theme, ‘Something for Everyone’, aiming to recognise the diverse passions and talents everyone brings to volunteering.

City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said this year’s awards aimed to highlight the theme and promote the diversity of volunteers and the variety of positions available throughout the community.

“The Volunteer Recognition Awards are an important night to thank and celebrate the amazing people who help out across the region,” he said.

“This year’s theme is particularly fitting, as our region is fortunate to have volunteers who assist in all areas of the community.

“These people range in age and skills, yet they all share a common goal, and we are extremely fortunate to have them as part of our community.”

Nominations are open to people who volunteered in Greater Shepparton, with all nominees and nominators being invited to the awards ceremony in May.

Applications open on Monday, January 15 and will close at 5pm on Monday, February 26.
