Oaks and Cup day success

Oaks Day was a huge success in Yarrawonga Mulwala with a great number of ladies dressing up and enjoying the hospitality on offer at several establishments hosting Oaks Day events.

Mulwala Water Ski Club Promotions and Marketing Manager Cathy Randell said the ski club had great attendance and an enjoyable day was had by all.

“What a fabulous week we have had. Hosting Cup Day Tuesday and Oaks Day Thursday for over 400 people, plus welcoming Lake Mulwala Rod Run Friday and Weekend Sunrise with James Tobin Saturday,” Ms Randell said.

“Melbourne Cup Day we hosted 200 people for roast lunch by Max’s BBQ and complimentary drink by Grant Burge Pinot Noir Chardonnay.

“Local duo Catch 22 kept them dancing all afternoon. There was lots of giveaways and prizes including exclusive vouchers from local business White Door Living.

“Fashions on the Field and the ‘After Party’ kicked off at 6pm with Scott and Amanda packing the dance floor, until late.

“Oaks Day on Thursday was booked out once again this year with over 200 ladies enjoying lunch and entertainment by Liam Dalby on the Malibu Deck.

“Fashions on the Field winners received gifts from White Door Living, Grant Burge Wines and Mulwala Water Ski Club.

“The party continued inside from 6pm with Me and the Girl performing till late.”

Club Mulwala Marketing and Entertainment Coordinator Trish Storer said that the much-loved Oaks Day at ClubMulwala was a great success again this year with a sell-out crowd enjoying a delicious two course meal, race-day activities, entertainment by Me and the Girl’s Paul Vitullo and Antonia Maher Music alongside a great atmosphere.

“Oh what a day! Our Oaks Day is always a fabulous day and this one was extra special,” Ms Storer said.

“Big thanks to all the wonderful ladies (and 1 gentlemen) who all looked fabulous and had a wonderful time.

“Special thanks to Rich Glen Olive Estate for their amazing support of the day - generously providing each guest with a beautifully scented wardrobe sachet, supplying table decorations and providing many giveaways for our ladies to enjoy.

“Thank you to all guests for their generous support of the raffle which raised $818 for Yarrawonga Health Helping Hands.

“Thanks to Me and the Girl Paul Vitullo and Antonia Maher Music for your wonderful entertainment. And thanks to Brooke Ledger photo booth for lots of fun!

Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort Marketing Manager Rob Alexander said Oaks Day was a great success with plenty of colour on show.

A fantastic Ladies' Day celebration was also held at The Sebel Yarrawonga.

The event highlighted beauty, style, and elegance as ladies were welcomed with a complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival along with live entertainment and a delightful locally flavoured three-course meal.

Door prizes and exclusive gift bags were also popular with the ladies and $10 from every ticket was also donated to the Bella Tripp Foundation.
