Last weekend was an action-packed one in Greater Shepparton, filled with amazing events for the region’s residents.

State Member for Shepparton Kim O'Keeffe reflected on the events and the “tremendous economic boost” they brought to the region.

Converge on the Goulburn at Shepparton’s Victoria Park Lake on Friday night, Top End Market Day at Lagozzino’s Top Pub car park in Hogan St, Tatura, and the Junior CFA/VFBV Firefighter State Championships in Mooroopna were some of the highlights.

Ms O’Keeffe also attended Husslin Auto Detailing’s 13th Birthday Show ’n’ Shine Celebration, where there were over 100 fabulous cars on display.

She visited these events and was impressed with the “amazing” food, entertainment, stalls, music and children’s activities on offer.

She also praised the local businesses that continue to succeed in the region.

For the first time in 23 years, Shepparton hosted the George Nelson Shepparton Gift event at the Shepparton Showgrounds, featuring what Ms O’Keeffe described as a “high calibre of athletes”.

Sunday wrapped up with the Shepparton Albanian Harvest Festival in the Queen’s Gardens, Shepparton, where visitors enjoyed “great” food, live entertainment and various activities for children.

“There was so much happening across our region last weekend, and these were some of the wonderful events that I was able to attend,” Ms O’Keeffe said.

The Nationals MP encouraged residents to attend the upcoming Senior CFA/VFBV Firefighter State Championships in Mooroopna.

She also highlighted the importance of Harmony Week, which began on Monday, celebrating diversity and bringing people from different backgrounds together.
