What do you get when you pair the opera that inspired Moulin Rouge and Rent with one of the world’s most celebrated performing arts companies?

An unmissable show.

Opera Australia travels to Riverlinks Westside in Mooroopna on Tuesday, July 30, for a one-night production of La Bohème.

Riverlinks manager Matthew Schroeders said he is thrilled to bring Opera Australia back to the Riverlinks stage.

“Opera Australia’s sustained excellence and critically acclaimed performances will surely make this production one of the standout highlights of our season,” he said.

In La Bohème, a poet, a painter, a musician, and a philosopher walk into a bar.

No, this is not a joke.

Recognised as the original bohemian love story, it’s a tale of two couples, Mimì, Rodolfo, Musetta, and Marcello, who brave a bitter winter while facing the fiery passions of new and rekindled love.

La Bohème revives Italian composer Giacomo Puccini’s masterpiece with a score that reflects an expansive palette of delicate trills mixed with intensely moving melodies.

Through music, audiences will be swept into a cyclone of emotions – the ecstasy of love, the crackling pain of jealousy, and the anguish of loss.

Coupled with the trademark wit of award-winning director Dean Bryant, the new staging delivers the famed opera with care and expertise.

Riverlinks presents Opera Australia’s La Bohème on Tuesday, July 30, from 7.30pm to 10pm at Riverlinks Westside, Echuca Rd, Mooroopna.

Ticket prices range from $38 to $65.

Tickets for the performance are available in person, by calling the Riverlinks Box office at 5832 9511, or online at https://riverlinksvenues.com.au/
