Family and friends of Russell Eames came together at Orana Residential Aged Care to celebrate a special birthday milestone.

It is not every day that anyone gets a chance to celebrate 101 years, but about 30 people were in attendance to help Russell mark the occassion.

The staff at Orana put on a wonderful event with residents gathering around multiple decorated tables and chairs to celebrate the occasion, with Russell sitting at the head of the table.

A large chocolate birthday cake was shared by those in attendance as well as refreshments including lemonade, tea and coffee.

Following the festivities, Russell gave a brief speech with everyone gathered around.

Russell’s children, Dennis Eames and Christine Soorley, were in attendance with thier partners Lorraine Osborne and John Soorley.

Pet dogs ‘Werner’ and ‘Freddy’ were also special guests.

Dennis and Lorraine travelled from Bendigo, while Christine and John travelled from Forster on the Mid-North Coast.

Russell had a second celebration with just his family following the morning tea.
