Free parking is back again for the festive season.
Greater Shepparton City Council has announced that council-owned on-street parking spaces will be free during December and January.
The free parking will begin on Monday, December 2, and will end on Friday, January 31, with paid parking returning on Monday, February 3.
Time limits will still apply to parking spots during this period and infringements will be issued for those who exceed those limits.
Mayor Shane Sali said this was a great initiative to encourage the community to shop local this holiday season.
“This initiative gives residents and visitors the opportunity to enjoy all the CBD has to offer while saving on parking costs during December and January. However, we remind everyone to observe time limits,” he said.
“For those planning a longer shopping trip, off-street longer-stay or all-day parking spaces near the CBD are the best option. These car parks remain complimentary year-round.”
The complimentary parking does not apply to the multi-deck car park, Goulburn Valley Health or Care Park car parks.
