The Echuca Moma Photography Club is roaring and ready for another year of events.

President Pam Pengelly said the group is keen to return together, with their first event on Wednesday, February 6.

Taking place at 7pm at the Echuca Library, the night is themed ‘holiday snaps’ and people are encouraged to come and show what photos they took over the break.

The club has a full calendar this year, with a trip to Ballarat even on the list.

“We meet up two Wednesdays in the month at the library, and then we have things that we do outside of that,” Ms Pengelly said.

“We have our own local competition, and we do some teaching with editing, as well as things like trips away - this year we’re going to Ballarat and looking at Melbourne and Rushworth.

“We go out and photograph things that happen around the community, like some of us are going to photograph the sunflowers, and some of us are going to go to the Southern 80.”

The club meets at the library on the first and third Wednesday of every month, with Harry’s Help sessions being held on the fourth Wednesday of each month.

These are evenings when a club member will answer questions or help figure out how to use your camera.

Ms Pengelly said the club is a great way to learn new photography skills and meet people.

“We have photographers at various levels in their photography journey. So from beginners through to people who have been professional photographers or are professional photographers,” she said.

“I enjoy that I’m learning new stuff as part of the club - things like taking macro, which is close-up stuff.

“I enjoy the fact that we go out as a group. We’re a really good group of people, and we help each other, and we have fun times. It’s really nice being part of the club.”

If people are interested in joining the club but are still unsure, they can also attend the club’s information session on Saturday, February 17. It’s being held at the Echuca Library between 1pm and 3pm.
