STOLEN MOTORBIKE

A black and red 2020 Honda motorcycle with the registration number 2N5IB was stolen from a residence in Chanter St, Moama between 5pm on Friday, July 11 and 4pm on Saturday, July 12.

Moama Police are currently conducting an investigation and appealing to anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of the motorcycle.

BREAK IN AND ENTER

Offenders gained access to a residence on Martin St, Moama between 10am on Saturday, July 2 and 4.30pm on Tuesday, July 12.

Murray River Police District Inspector Paul Huggett said a number of items were stolen from the residence.

“A television and gaming equipment were just some of the items stolen from the address,” Insp Huggett said.

Insp Huggett has advised that forensic police have attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

POSSESSION OF DRUGS

Moama Police spoke to two males on Meninya St at 12.20am on Tuesday, July 12, when one of the males admitted to being in possession of an ice pipe.

Police then conducted a search of the male and discovered clear resealable bags containing methamphetamine.

The man was charged with possession of prohibited drugs and is set to appear at Moama Local Court.

MOBILITY SCOOTER THEFT

About 9pm on Sunday, July 10, an elderly gentleman’s residence in Mathoura was broken into.

Moama Police attended the scene and found out that the same gentleman had his mobility scooter stolen on a previous night — the evening of Thursday, July 7.

Upon investigation, police received information that a young person had acquired the scooter.

The mobility scooter has since been returned to the gentleman.

Murray River Police District Inspector Paul Huggett has advised that the offender will be processed in accordance with the Young Offenders Act.

DRIVER CAUGHT WITH CANNABIS

On Saturday, July 9, Moama Police pulled over a vehicle with a Victorian registration on Francis St, Moama and proceeded to search the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, police located a small plastic bag containing cannabis.

The 27-year-old female driver has received a caution.

VALUABLES STOLEN FROM VEHICLE

Between 4am on Wednesday, July 6 and 8.30am on Thursday, July 7, an unknown person(s) gained entry into a vehicle parked on Beverly Cres, Moama and subsequently stole a number of bank cards and other personal cards.

The cards were later recovered in High St, Echuca.

Murray River Police District Inspector Paul Huggett said it was unknown as of yet if any money was taken from the bank cards.

“Ensure that you are always keeping your vehicle secure and do not leave any personal effects of value in your vehicle,” Insp Huggett said.
