The female driver was unable to provide a sample of breath and was taken to hospital where a blood sample was taken.

The sample returned a result of 0.404, over eight times the legal limit of alcohol for a fully licensed driver.

The driver was issued an immediate 12-month driving ban and has received a summons to attend court at a later date.
