Police beat: Vehicle stolen, drug-driver and neighbourhood policing forum

Vehicle stolen

Police are investigating a theft of a white Isuzu utility with a distinctive roof rack that was stolen in the Benalla area on September 15 or 16. The vehicle was found in bushland in Seymour. Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is urged to contact Benalla Police Station on 5760 0200 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Drug driving

On Tuesday afternoon, September 10, Benalla Highway Police detected an unregistered Holden Commodore travelling at excessive speed in Euroa. Police allege the 42-year-old male disqualified driver returned a positive result for driving under the influence of drugs.

The driver will receive a date to attend court, and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days, at a cost of $1280.

Benalla, Mansfield and Murrindindi neighbourhood policing forum

The Victoria Police Neighbourhood Policing Forum welcomes local services and community members to speak with police about what issues are important in your community.

The event will be held at the Mansfield Golf Club, 24 Kidston Pde, Mansfield on October 10 from 12:30pm to 3:30pm.

The forum will explore topics including:

  • Current crime trends and crime prevention
  • Family violence
  • Young people
  • Road policing
  • Drugs and drug-related crime.

The Neighbourhood Policing Forum will be run by a Victoria Police panel and questions will be taken from the audience throughout the event.

Free to attend, but you must register in advance. Refreshments will be offered. If there are any dietary requirements, please include them in your registration.
