Police briefs | Two women allegedly steal alcohol from Numurkah store

Police officers are looking for two women who allegedly stole a $250 bottle of alcohol from a bottle shop in Numurkah on April 5.

Police allege one woman distracted the owner of the bottle shop while the other woman stole a bottle of Wild Turkey.

One woman is described as being in her late 30s, of islander appearance, solid build and wearing a blue top and white pants.

The second woman is described as being in her early 20s, Caucasian, of slim build wearing a white top and black pants.

The women were believed to be in the company of an African man, 195 cm tall, driving a grey Toyota Starlet.

● A new pair of women's Skechers shoes were stolen from a Toyota Kluger parked in Stokes Ave, Cobram, on April 3. The vehicle was unlocked at the time.

● A red mobility scooter, valued at $750, was stolen from a home on Hay Ave, Cobram. The theft occurred overnight on March 31.

● About 10.30 pm on April 3, an unknown person smashed the front passenger window of a Ford Focus parked in Lisfarron Ave, Cobram. A purse containing bank cards, cash and personal belongings was taken from the vehicle.

● A Cobram man, 18, was processed at Cobram police station for allegedly possessing a drug of dependence on April 3. The man received an official caution.

● A Violet Town man, 41, was arrested in Yarrawonga for alleged traffic offences and allegedly possessing methamphetamine. The man was charged and bailed to the Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court.

● Across the Easter holidays, police officers across the Moira Shire maintained a highly visible presence, conducting 4700 preliminary breath tests, resulting in 252 traffic offences and 13 impaired drivers removed from our roads.
