Police claim hammer used in Cobram armed robbery

Four Cobram teenagers have been arrested by police following an alleged armed robbery.

The alleged armed robbery occurred in the early hours of Sunday, January 28 at Federation Park when a male and female in their 30s waiting for a bus were allegedly approached by the group, armed with a hammer, before being robbed of money.

Cobram police claim that the group also damaged fencing and gating at the Federation Park playground.

Detectives executed two search warrants in Cobram on Monday, February 5 and arrested the four teenagers allegedly involved.

An 18-year-old Cobram male was charged with robbery, theft and criminal damage.

He was bailed to appear at the Cobram Magistrates Court on May 1.

A 16-year-old Cobram male was charged with armed robbery, assault, theft and criminal damage.

Two 14-year-old Cobram males were charged with robbery, theft and criminal damage.

All three children were bailed to appear at a Children’s Court at a later date.
