Police have released CCTV footage as investigations continue into a serious assault in Moama in late January.

About 6am on Monday, January 29, emergency services were called to a home in Annie Court following reports a man had been seriously assaulted.

Police have been told the occupant – a 23-year-old man – was struck on the back of the head after answering the front door and a mobile phone and purse containing a wallet and cash were stolen.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man for serious head injuries and he was taken to Echuca Hospital before being airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District established a crime scene and Strike Force Kinkuna was formed to investigate the circumstance surrounding the incident.

As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV footage of two vehicles they are seeking to identify.

Police would like to speak to the occupants of a black Ford Focus or an orange Toyota Corolla driving along Meninya St, Moama, with no number plates into Echuca on Sunday, January 28.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
