Power-line fire sparks at Shepparton house

Firefighters were called to a fire at a Shepparton home on Sunday.

Firefighters responded to a power-line fire at a Shepparton house on Sunday, July 7.

A Fire Rescue Victoria spokesperson said firefighters were called to Northumberland Cres after callers to 000 reported seeing flames on a power line at a house at 11.17pm.

Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find a small fire where the power line entered the property on the fascia of the dwelling.

Crews quickly extinguished the fire, and the scene was deemed under control at 11.27pm, the spokesperson said.

A power company also attended the incident, and the electricity was disconnected from the property.
