Power has been restored to around 9000 Goulburn Valley residents impacted by a storm cell that brought flash flooding and resultant damage to the region on Thursday afternoon.

A total of 27.6mm of rain was recorded on March 23 by the Bureau of Meteorology at Shepparton Airport, the majority of which arrived between 1:45pm and 2:04pm.

Powercor reported the outage statistics, with line workers from Echuca, Bendigo and Cobram mobilised to Shepparton to assist local crews.

Downpour: Massive amounts of hail fell in Harston, near Tatura.

The rolling effects were felt on Friday morning, as workers continued to assist around 100 customers in Shepparton left without power through the night, while also conducting repairs to damaged poles and wires.

Meanwhile, a number of non-residential buildings were also impacted.

Greater Shepparton City Council offices were forced to close due to storm damage, while Mooroopna Golf Club copped the full brunt of the elements.

Heavy falls: Many roadways in Mooroopna were under water, including MacIsaac Rd.

Several large trees fell on the course, restricting play for the majority of Friday morning as clean-up crews worked to remove the debris.

Shepparton Christian College was forced to cancel its annual fete due to residual water, while Year 8 and 9 students stayed home on Friday due to the damage to several classrooms.

Precipitation: Golf ball-sized hail coated hundreds of backyards throughout the Goulburn Valley.
