Pre Polls | How many voters carried out their democratic duty early?

Data from the Victorian Electoral Commission paints a picture of how many voters in the region headed to the polls - or post office - before today’s final day of voting.

In Shepparton, 20,286 early votes were processed - as well as 2387 postal votes out of 5714 postal vote applications (not counting those which were later cancelled).

There are 50,994 registered voters in the district - meaning less than half of the enrolled voters were planning on heading to the polls today.

In 2018, 16,105 votes were cast early and 3249 successful applications for postal votes were made.

In Euroa, 20,445 registered voters carried out their democratic duty at polling booths before today, while 2635 of 6139 postal votes had been returned.

There are 50,633 names on the electoral role which call the Euroa district home.

In Murray Plains, 21,023 votes were cast early and only 1321 of 2972 postal votes had been returned.

There are 48,622 registered voters in the district.

22,008 early votes were cast in Ovens Valley - with 3788 valid postal votes requested and 1148 returned as of yesterday.

48,125 voters are on the electoral role in the Ovens Valley.

Overall, 1,908,400 Victorians voted early and 582,407 postal votes were requested.

272,796 of those had been processed as of yesterday.

There are 4,394,465 total voters enrolled in this election.
