Search for wanted man has now concluded

The search for wanted man Stanley Turvey is over, police have confirmed.

The region’s residents are being urged to call 000 if they see a man wanted over a series of incidents in the Goulburn Valley and Southern Riverina on Monday, September 18, and Tuesday, September 19.

Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public help to locate Stanley Turvey after he evaded police in the Shepparton area on Monday in a series of incidents that started when he approached police allegedly with a gun at Katandra West at noon.

He was seen in Finley on Monday afternoon.

At 10am on Tuesday morning he was in Yarrawonga, where he stole a ute.

He is believed to have left town driving a white coloured Toyota Hi-Lux dual cab ute with the registration 1RA-8AN.

Late on Tuesday afternoon the search had moved to the Tatura area.

Police confirmed that they recovered the stolen ute on Tuesday afternoon in Fraser St, Tatura.

The manhunt moved to Ardmona on Wednesday morning.

Extra police from Melbourne have joined local police in searching for him.

Police advise members of the public not to approach Mr Turvey if he is sighted, but to call 000 immediately.
