Puppets and muppets in Mooroopna

Epic adventure: Jason Triggs with his handy puppets.

For one day only, the Mooroopna Youth Puppetry Collective is putting on a zany performance with its Muppet-like models.

The seven children from primary schools across Greater Shepparton who make up the collective will be performing two shows at the Mooroopna Education and Activity Centre.

The first show is about an epic time-travelling quest that does not end the way it was planned, and the second show is a retelling of three classic fairy tales, with a modern twist.

The shows are on at 10.30am and 1pm on Saturday, June 25.

Artistic director puppeteer Jason Triggs is mentoring the kids in the collective, teaching them how to make their own rod-arm puppets, which are reminiscent of classic Sesame Street characters.

“If you enjoy Sesame Street then you will love these shows,” Mr Triggs said.
