Rachael lands great role ... but at Moama

Congratulations to local teacher Rachael Flett.

Rachael has secured a full time leadership position as an assistant principal curriculum and instruction at Moama Primary School.

While she will be missed by the Mathoura School community, the school gratefully acknowledges the expertise she has shared with staff and students over the last few years and wishes her well in her new position.

Rachael came to Mathoura several years ago under the Rural Experience Program, bringing with her a number of skills which made her a valued member of the team.

After her 12 month term was up she returned to Sydney and settled back into her city teaching routine.

However when she noticed a teaching vacancy at Mathoura advertised the following year, she applied and was accepted and warmly welcomed back into the fold.

Her return was not only valuable to the school which has been named an Ambassador School - one of only six primary schools in NSW to earn the title - but has provided the town with a plumber by bringing her husband with her.

The couple has built a home here as well.

Thanks to Margie Wilkinson for her shutterbug work during the visit last week by entrants in the Variety Club Bash.

It was a shame there was no prior notice of their visit, otherwise they would have received an even bigger welcome.

I’m interested to know how many back sheds have since been opened up to check out the old vehicles inside.

Congratulations to MPS students Bindi, Khoa, Sophie, Katelyn, Georgie, and Chanon for their success in last week’s Deniliquin PSSA Cross Country event.

They will now progress to the Riverina CC at Gundagi.

Whenever there is a call for support of fundraising events in town, one name repeatedly appears.

She is Barb Hussey, and her donations are as warm as her heart.

Barb makes warm and colourful blankets which are eagerly sought after items and a boost to any fundraising event.

Thanks for everything you do Barb.
