The Corowa races this Monday is expected to draw many locals and visitors with excellent fields in the 7-race meeting.

It will be day of fashionistas, race goers and those just wanting to have plenty of fun this Monday at the Corowa Race Club.

The popular Melbourne Cup long weekend race meeting will also feature a new race, called the “Federation Stakes” as part of the popular spring racing calendar.

The Federation Stakes will have big prize money of $35,000 and is expected to attract quality fields for the seven-race meeting on Monday, November 4, 2024, according to secretary of the Corowa Race Club Gail Law.

“The day will also include amazing prizes for Race Day Fashions, so dress to impress and enjoy a wonderful day's racing,” Ms Law said.

“The Millinery Award is sponsored by Pickled Sisters Café in Rutherglen, and there is an accommodation package for the Lady of the Day and also a Junior Racegoer Award.

“For those south of the border making it a long weekend, we will have live entertainment by Ray Macartney, a jumping castle for the kids, and a lot of fun for the whole family.”

Ms Law said the club has an undercover bar, there will be bookmakers and TAB facilities available for patrons and plenty of tables and chairs in shaded areas.

“The canteen is now catered by Macca’s Catering. They are providing the usual canteen fare, but you can also order special grazing boxes by phoning Macca’s on 02 6024 1325. You can pick them up from the race club canteen on race day.”

Entry fees for the race meeting are $20 for adults and $10 for pensioners, children under 16 free.

There are many improvements to the grounds and facilities to be enjoyed by all, including the members’ bar extensions that provide a very comfortable lounge for all members and their guests.
