The selfless supporters of the Devenish and Dookie Good Friday appeal are starting early this year with a special Raise and Shave event.

Northern Vic Ammo Supplies is hosting the day of fundraising activities in Tungahah on Saturday, October 28, from 12pm - 2pm.

The day’s featured event will see Brett and Joanne Ford, who operate NVAS, shaved for a delighted crowd.

While Brett will say goodbye to his magnificent beard and hair, Joanne will also have her head shaved - on one condition.

If the day has raised $20,000, she will lose her locks, so dig deep to ensure that happens.

And, of course, all money raised will go to Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital via the Devenish and Dookie Good Friday Appeal.

The event will feature live music from Alana White, who will perform from 12pm - 2pm.

There will also be a display of vintage cars and a barbecue.

However, the highlight for many will be a display of army tanks, one of which will be used to crush a car at 3pm, so be careful where you park.
