State Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland is encouraging households impacted by the recent floods in the region to apply for newly announced relief payments.

Payments of $640 per adult and $320 per child will be available for affected households, with a maximum of $2240 per eligible family.

The payments will be made available for communities and councils within 17 registered local government areas, including Benalla Rural City, Mitchell Shire, Strathbogie Shire, City of Greater Bendigo and Campaspe Shire.

You are eligible for a payment if you have unmet relief needs and your principal place of residence is, or was, in an evacuation warning area, and the floods or storms have damaged your home, and your home has flooded above the floor.

Ms Cleeland said households should contact their local council to receive the relief.

“These recent floods devastated our region, and these grants exist to provide families with a helping hand,” Ms Cleeland said.

“I encourage everyone impacted to make the most of this assistance.”
