Renaissance Records US, a record label specialising in classic rock, country and indie re-releases, has announced its newest project, a CD reissue of Shepparton muso Joe Matera’s instrumental rock albums Slave to the Fingers and Creature of Habit.

This collaboration brings together the exceptional talents of the local singer-songwriter, guitarist, author and music journalist, delivering a power-packed collection for music enthusiasts worldwide.

Mr Matera’s original albums, released in 2011 and 2012 respectively, have been combined into a single CD edition, offering an enhanced listening experience.

The rock reissue CD follows Mr Matera’s recent release The Lone Runner, an enchanting collection of soft instrumentals with evocative melodies and storytelling.

With this reissue, Mr Matera transitions back to his instrumental rock roots with his signature style and dynamic performances.

In a recent interview with Goldmine Magazine, Mr Matera shared his artistic vision for his instrumentals.

“When I am writing instrumentals, they have to be memorable, something that you can tap your foot to. The songs are melodic. I have always been about the melodies,” he said.

The reissue of Slave to the Fingers and Creature of Habit is described as a “testament to his enduring musical prowess”.

This two-in-one CD not only brings together all the original songs from the albums but also includes new liner notes, revised artwork and bonus material.

Fans will have the opportunity to delve into the intricacies of Mr Matera’s creative process and immerse themselves in his musical journey.
