A big name in the book world is headed to Shepparton.

Garry Disher will be appearing at Shepparton Library to talk about his latest book, Sanctuary.

Mr Disher is an acclaimed author. He has won three Australian and four German awards for the best crime novel of the year, he received the Ned Kelly Lifetime Achievement Award and he has been long-listed twice for a British CWA Gold Dagger award.

Sanctuary features Mr Disher’s usual brand of twists, turns and thrills, focusing on a thief named Grace. The life of a thief is a solitary one, and it’s no longer the life she wants. After having a run-in with an old associate, Grace begins to lie low before walking into Erin Mandel’s rural antique shop. She sees this as a chance for a normal life, a normal job and a normal place to call home. But someone is looking for Erin. And someone is looking for Grace, too. And these searchers are both, in their own ways, very dangerous men. What will happen to Grace and Erin, and why are they being looked for?

If the synopsis of Sanctuary intrigues you or if you are simply a fan of Mr Disher’s work, be at Shepparton Library on Sunday, July 14 at 2pm to meet the man behind the words and pick up a signed copy of his new book.

Call Goulburn Valley Libraries on 1300 374 765 or email shepparton@gvlibraries.com.au to reserve a place. You can also book online at https://www.gvlibraries.com.au/events
